1- The song ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon’ is the longest Hindi film song. Do you know that the length of this song is approximately is 20 minutes and in order not to bore the audience to death this song is featured in three parts in the film.

2- The ‘ACTION STAR’ Akshay Kumar is very superstitious and will never sign any document unless he has first written an ‘Om’ at the top of that document.

3- The ‘SUPERSTAR’ Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most humble and modest bollywood star! In fact he is so punctual that many a times he had opened the gates of Movie Studios himself as he was the first one to reach there even before the watchman or gatekeeper.

4- The ‘GABBAR’ of bollywood – Amjad Khan not the original choice of the scriptwriter Javed Akhtar – for the iconic movie ‘SHOLAY’ as Javed thought that Amjad’s voice is too weak for Gabbar Singh’s role. The production team in fact had first approached the actor Danny Denzogpa for the role – which he refused due to prior commitments.

5- The ‘VERSATILE’ actor Anil Kapoor had a very humble beginning – when his family first came to Mumbai they lived in Raj Kapoor’s garage. Only later when things started looking bright for his family – they shifted to a room.

6- The ‘THESPIAN’ actor Ashok Kumar started his career as a lab assistant in Bombay Talkies before he got an opportunity and became an actor in 1936.

7- Although Indians are obsessed with films but it is strange that there are very few cinema screens when compared to other countries. India has less than 13,000 screens compared with nearly 40,000 screens in the US – and considering the fact that India has a population of over 1 billion people.

8- The only time when the best female playback singer award was shared between 2 singers was when Ila Arun and Alka Yagnik were awarded for the controversial song ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ in the movie ‘Khalnayak’.

9- The ‘EVERGREEN’ actor Dev Anand used to pick up his movie titles and story lines from the newspaper headlines and stories that he used to come across.

10- It is so surprising to know that the actress Devika Rani was the first Indian actress with a degree in film-making.

11- Before achieving superstardom the actor Dharmendra was a huge fan of the actress Suraiya – and he used to walk many miles to watch her film ‘Dillagi’ (1949) and over 40 times!

12- Another interesting anecdote about Dharmendra – when he first debuted in 1960 in the movie ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’ his remuneration was a paltry 51 rupees!

13- The ‘TRAGEDY KING’ Dilip Kumar was in fact offered a lead role for the international project ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ by director David Lean. Although best known reasons to him the actor declined the offer. This role subsequently given to the Egyptian actor Omar Sharif.

14- Dilip Kumar not surprisingly has won the most awards as the Best Actor with 8 awards spanning over 3 decades.

15- The teenage heartthrob Dimple Kapadia was only sixteen years old when she debuted in the super hit movie ‘Bobby’ (1973). However she got married to Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna at that very age! Although the movie was a huge success and Dimple was flooded with offers – she chose domestic commitments over silver screen.

16- The iconic song ‘Ae Malik Tere Bande Hum’ from ‘Do Aankhen Barah Haath’ (1957) which was sung by Lata Mangeshkar was adapted by a Pakistani school as the school anthem.

17- The ‘DANCING STAR’ Hrithik Roshan had once ordered 50 books on ‘How to Stop Smoking’ and then he gave them to all his friends.

18- The ‘JUMPING JACK’ actor Jeetendra’s first film was ‘Navrang’ (1959), where he played Sandhya’s body double.

19- The super hit movie ‘Kaho Naa.. Pyar Hai’ was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for winning the most number of awards for a movie. The movie won a total of whopping 92 awards!

20- The super rich and super successful actor Shahrukh Khan’s first salary was a meagre Rs 50. Shahrukh earned this by working as an usher at a Pankaj Udhas’ concert in Delhi. He then took a train to Agra and see the Taj Mahal.

21- The ‘SUPERSTAR’ Amitabh Bachchan used to work in Calcutta in a shipping firm Shaw & Wallace as executive and as a freight broker for Bird and Co. It was in Calcutta that he bought a second-hand Fiat as his first car.
